AUTUMN HIKING ROUTES IN GRANADA
From La Almunia del Valle we propose different autumn hiking routes where you can enjoy the variety of colours that nature gives us this time of year. Autumn is a season where Granada and the Natural and National Park of Sierra Nevada offer us landscapes and a light that is difficult to forget.
We start with Los Cahorros, not only because of its proximity to the hotel but also because of how beautiful and varied this walk is, as we will discover the area through hanging bridges, crossing the gorge, and passing through a beautiful valley with impressive views.
La boca de la Pescá, a modest summit of 1,518 m of altitude, is located a few kilometers from La Almunia. We can comence the route from "La fuente del hervidero" or continue to the start of the Espartera channel. From here starts a path accessible to everyone and just over a kilometer we will find one of the most beautiful viewpoints in the area.
In Güejar Sierra, towards Maitena, we find the "golden girl" on the Sierra Nevada routes. La vereda de la Estrella. During the approximately 22 km that this route has, we will find water and vegetation, we will see the "grandfather" a huge centenary chestnut tree and we will enjoy magnificent views of 3 of the highest peaks of Sierra Nevada: Mulhacen, Veleta, and Alcazaba.
In the Lecrín Valley, we find a beautiful and easy signposted route. This will show us the landscape of the valley with its thermal baths, lakes, water reservoirs and many other natural jewels that this area hosts. We will start from the town of Melegís. Located on the banks of the river and in the middle of a forest of orange and lemon trees.
We cannot forget the "enchanted forest" of Lugros. In this municipal term in the Sierra Nevada National Park, we find the Dehesa del Camarate. A beautiful corner that has one of the best-preserved forests in Andalusia.
And after a nice autumn hike, nothing better than a delicious dinner at La Almunia del Valle along with a nice glass of wine.
